Producer of Merong Mahawangsa played with fire to produce a movie with that much amount of historical background. The CGIs were impressive and believable but the lighting could be better. However, i was kind of disappointed as the content were not as wholesome as the effects. I felt that the actors were monotonous in their expressions. They were working as a different component that has very average chemistry with each other. Merongs's speech before the battle were not that inspiring, ships and battlescene were not exaggerated enough and cultural influence did not jive in with the real era that the story was told in real life. I know i didnt do justice by comparing Abg Merong with Hollywood movies. Great effort and improvements on the techniques. It's just that, i walked out and still felt empty.



Dance has always been my interest since like forever. But after watching the dance performance "Woman on Top" at Aswara yesterday, I felt like, damn....my interest and understanding of the art is probably close to none.

About 7 dance were performed by our local talents. Some of them kept me on my feet and some of them were so immensely interpretive, that i had no idea what they were expressing. But thanks to Lish for willing to go together, i tried to achieve the Cheryl Cole look of side swept Greek Goddess hair with feminine blue dress for the show which obviously didnt work cause who am i kidding, kan senang pakai selipar je. Having said that, it was a breath of fresh inspiration.
